We are delighted to announce the signing of the extremely talented Ireland 7’s Star, Amee Leigh Murphy Crowe.
Initially drawn to Athletics, Amee Leigh first tried rugby union at her local rugby club in Tipperary, Clanwilliam RFC. Her star rose quickly and Ireland 7’s identified Amee Leigh’s potential.
Amee Leigh has excelled for Ireland on the World Series circuit since her debut in 2014. She was the first woman not from Australia or New Zealand to be named top try scorer in the World Series. Further, Amee Leigh is Ireland’s all-time top try scorer on the World Series and was named on the series Dream Team in 2019.
Amee Leigh has amassed an outstanding 98 tries in 131 appearances for Ireland 7’s
However, her abilities aren’t limited to the 7’s game. She was called up to the Ireland 15’s squad for the 2021 women’s Six Nations Championship, making her debut against France. Amee Leigh subsequently started in the next match against Italy, scoring two tries, an impressive return on first start.
Chris Best, Head of Talent at Frontier Sports Management is excited to be working with Amee Leigh “Amee Leigh is a star, what she has achieved in her 7’s career to date is remarkable. Further, the fact that she was able to adapt to international 15’s rugby so quickly shows the quality of athlete she is! It’s going to be a busy period over the next few years for Amee Leigh, we want to drive her ambitions on pitch and ensure she makes of the most of opportunities off pitch.
Amee Leigh is a great ambassador for Irish Rugby and someone younger athletes in Ireland should be looking too as a marker for what can be achieved”
